I-74 construction between Mahomet and Mansfield to begin June 22

Motorists on I-74 between Mahomet and Mansfield can expect delays as the Illinois Department of Transportation begins construction on June 22.

The project that involves pavement patching and resurfacing will require lane closures with one lane open in each direction at all times.

Work is expected to be completed in about 10 weeks, weather permitting.

Motorists are encouraged to avoid the work area by use of alternate routes, when feasible. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
