Hundreds of Cities Mobilize for ‘Rage Against the Regime’ Protests as Champaign County Indivisible Launches August Accountability in Mahomet

Americans in more than 300 cities are preparing for what organizers say will be one of the largest coordinated protest actions of 2025. The “Rage Against the Regime” National Day of Action, spearheaded by the 50501 Movement and supported by local Indivisible groups, is set for Saturday, August 2, and will feature marches, banner-drops, and peaceful demonstrations targeting the administration of President Donald Trump.

According to organizers, the event aims to push back against what they describe as growing authoritarianism, the erosion of civil liberties, and specific Trump administration policies related to immigration, human rights, and the environment.

Champaign County Indivisible is kicking off protest events throughout “August Accountability” with an event organized outside Representative Mary Miller’s district office at 604 E Main St, at 3 p.m. on Aug. 2. The Mahomet rally will serve as a kickoff to a month of sustained pressure on Rep. Miller and other political leaders, as citizens grow concerned about civil liberties, threats to democracy, and demand for representation that upholds these values.

Local activists are urging residents to bring their signs, voices, and passion as part of a push for greater congressional accountability and to protest against the policies of the Trump administration in his current term.

Details about additional Champaign County Indivisible events will be available on their Facebook page.
