Guide to Next Week’s Homecoming Festivities
The Mahomet-Seymour School District will welcome their Bulldogs home during the week of September 24.
Wednesday
Festivities will kick-off Wednesday, September 26 with the Mahomet-Seymour Homecoming parade, which will begin at 5:30 p.m. Affected Village streets, including State, Division, Elm, Main and Franklin will be closed beginning around 5:00 p.m. and will reopen at approximately 6:15 p.m.
The community is then invited to Dutton Field at 7 p.m. to watch the Powderpuff football game. Donations will be accepted upon entry, and will go to support the Student Council’s Homecoming Week planning. Spectators can vote for the MVP, Best Wipeout, Best Offense, and Best Defense for a chance to win a gift card.
Friday
The Mahomet-Seymour Student Council invites the community to tailgate party from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. before Friday’s football game.
The Mahomet-Seymour Education Foundation will then recognize the 2018 Hall of Fame Inductees on the track of Frank Dutton Field. Rob Porter, Sharon Farley, Frank Dutton and Craig Buchanan will be recognized for their athletic achievements. Brian Haag will be recognized for his contributions to the music program at Mahomet-Seymour High School and James Kroner will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his work on the Manhattan project.
Kick-off for the homecoming game against Effingham will take place at 7 p.m. The Marching Bulldogs will take the field with their show, “Outbreak” at halftime.
