Henrichs earns hat trick in win over Charleston

The Bulldogs scored a season-high 10 goals on Thursday (Sept. 9) – including a hat trick by Sam Henrichs – and dispatched Charleston 10-0 in an Apollo Conference boys’ soccer match at Middleton Field.
M-S led 9-0 at intermission while improving to 2-0 in Apollo matches. Both Apollo wins have been by shutout as have four of the team’s six victories this season.
In all, eight players had either a goal or an assist against the Trojans.
Anthony Ramirez netted two goals. Scoring once apiece were Andre Grace, Kai Jones, Xavier Schmidt and Justin Straub.
Clayton Gibson assisted three goals. Henrichs and Ramirez had two assists. Straub and Titus Payne each finished with one assist.
On Saturday (Sept. 11), eight Bulldogs had a goal or an assist in a 6-1 win at home over Danville.
Finishing with one goal and one assist were Titus Payne, Ramirez and Logan Alt. Other goals were scored by Jones, Carson Reed and Straub.
Also recording assists were Grace and Schmidt.
M-S (6-2) returns to action on Tuesday (Sept. 14) at Mattoon.
