Help Pfiester celebrate 103 years

Hilda Kimble Pfiester’s family hopes recognition for her will soon be in the cards.
The long-time Mahomet resident will celebrate her 103rd birthday on June 16th. Family requests birthday cards be sent to her current residence, Farmer City Rehab and HealthCare, 404 Brookview Drive, Farmer City, Il 61842.
She moved to Mahomet in the 1940s, and lived on her own east of town until she was 99. She was a founding member of the Lutheran Church of Mahomet. and attended regularly until she was almost 100.
She has one son Holmes (Mary) Kimble, Farmer City, three grandchildren, Katie (Chad) Gilbert,
Mandy (Ben) Taylor and Josh Kimble, as well as two step-grandchildren, Lindsay Kuhns and Justin Walker. Hilda has six great-grandchildren.
In a 2017 newspaper interview, she said the key to longevity is no secret.
“No tobacco. No liquor. Good food and hard work,” said Pfiester, a Mahomet resident for nearly seven decades.
