Gaudio places 9th at Gene Jones Runnin’ Red Invitational

Sophomore Auggie Gaudio ran ninth on Saturday (Oct. 7) in the 22-school Gene Jones Runnin’ Red Invitational at Black Patridge Park, in Metamora.
The race featured 247 competitors.
Gaudio’s time for the 2.94-mile course was 15 minutes, 14.80 seconds.
The top four M-S finishers had times within 62 seconds of one another.
Trailing Gaudio were Henry McMurry (28th in 15:47.70), Lukas Nykaza (46th in 16:14.80) and Kaleb Kasper (47th in 16:16.40).
Other Bulldog participants were Grant Smysor (74th in 17:00.70), Lukas Carey (78th in 17:07.80), Zach Wilcoski (94th in 17:33.50), Corban McMinn (123rd in 17:53.50), Jack Van Hoorn (130th in 18:00.40), Henry Carpenter (153rd in 18:29.20), Ben Schultz (154th in 18:29.30), Gavin Fan (157th in 18:29.90), Blake Patrick (189th in 19:13.80), Jackson Koontz (228th in 29:46.00) and Matthew Gray (235th in 21:52.40).
M-S placed eighth with 199 points.
Meet champion Morton compiled a team score of 63 points, followed by Glenbard South (64 points) and Washington (120 points).
The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday (Oct. 10) in the Apollo Conference Meet at Taylorville.
