Gaudio places 9th at Gene Jones Runnin’ Red Invitational

Sophomore Auggie Gaudio ran ninth on Saturday (Oct. 7) in the 22-school Gene Jones Runnin’ Red Invitational at Black Patridge Park, in Metamora.

The race featured 247 competitors.

Gaudio’s time for the 2.94-mile course was 15 minutes, 14.80 seconds.

The top four M-S finishers had times within 62 seconds of one another.

Trailing Gaudio were Henry McMurry (28^th in 15:47.70), Lukas Nykaza (46^th in 16:14.80) and Kaleb Kasper (47^th in 16:16.40).

Other Bulldog participants were Grant Smysor (74^th  in 17:00.70), Lukas Carey (78^th in 17:07.80), Zach Wilcoski (94^th in 17:33.50), Corban McMinn (123^rd in 17:53.50), Jack Van Hoorn (130^th in 18:00.40), Henry Carpenter (153^rd in 18:29.20), Ben Schultz (154^th in 18:29.30), Gavin Fan (157^th in 18:29.90), Blake Patrick (189^th in 19:13.80), Jackson Koontz (228^th in 29:46.00) and Matthew Gray (235^th in 21:52.40).

M-S placed eighth with 199 points.

Meet champion Morton compiled a team score of 63 points, followed by Glenbard South (64 points) and Washington (120 points).

The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday (Oct. 10) in the Apollo Conference Meet at Taylorville.
