Even scoring puts Bulldogs over Taylorville in an Apollo Conference win

Thanks to double-figure scoring performances from four players, the Mahomet-Seymour boys’ basketball team reached a season’s high for points scored in a 74-52 Apollo Conference victory at Taylorville on Tuesday (Dec. 13).
Adam Dyer and Jake Waldinger each scored 15 points for the Bulldogs. Dayten Eisenmann hit 14 points and Trey Peters contributed 10 points.
Cade Starrick meshed three three-point shots and ended with nine points.
The Bulldogs were credited with assists on 24 of the team’s 27 field goals.
Finn Randolph had a season-high six assists. Dyer and Carter Selk each handed out five assists.
Selk was the game’s dominant rebounder, pulling down eight boards.
The Bulldogs displayed a consistent offense, knocking down 19 points in each of the first three quarters. M-S led 38-26 at halftime.
M-S hit 56.3 percent of its shots from the field (27 of 48) and drained 13 of 14 free throw attempts.
The team’s top previous scoring output this season was 63 points in an overtime loss to Belleville West.
M-S (4-5) returns to action on Thursday (Dec. 22) at home against Normal University High.
