Ellie Barker and Ellie Dallas Lead Mahomet-Seymour to Limestone Tournament Championship with Undefeated Run

Led by all-tournament picks Ellie Barker and Ellie Dallas, Mahomet-Seymour’s volleyball team won the championship on Saturday (Oct. 19) at the Limestone Tournament.
The Bulldogs swept the five opponents that they faced, handing losses to Peoria Richwoods (25-19, 25-9), Chillicothe IVC (25-20, 25-13), La-Salle Peru (25-16, 25-16) and Geneseo (25-21, 25-22) before needing three sets to subdue Bartonville Limestone (25-20, 23-25,15-13).
On Thursday (Oct. 17), Lily Bosworth swatted seven kills for M-S, but the Bulldogs dropped a 25-19, 27-25 Apollo Conference decision at Effingham.
Both squads have 8-1 league records with one conference match remaining.
The Bulldogs’ junior varsity team also lost at Effingham, 25-18, 25-15. The M-S freshmen scored a 21-11, 21-6 victory.
M-S (25-3) returns to action on Tuesday (Oct. 22) at home against Charleston. The Bulldogs are seeking a 30-win season for a school-record fourth consecutive year.
