Eight Mahomet-Seymour Athletes Garner Postseason Honors in All-Apollo Conference Girls’ Soccer Selections

Eight Mahomet-Seymour athletes earned postseason recognition on one of the all-Apollo Conference girls’ soccer teams chosen by league coaches.
Four Bulldogs were first-team selections and four others earned second-team laurels.
The M-S first-teamers were senior Nadia Biegler, sophomore Hannah Creel, freshman Jaycee Fancher and sophomore Paislee Welge.
Honored with second-team status were freshman Erika Johnson, sophomore Izzy Lietz, senior Maggie Moore and sophomore Ella Walk.
Additionally, Welge was an all-state selection by the Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association. The same organization tabbed Biegler as an all-sectional pick. Creel was chosen as an all-sectional honorable mention pick.
Fancher and Johnson were the top scorers on an 11-6-3 team with 11 goals apiece. Walk netted nine goals.
Lietz (nine), Fancher (eight) and Creel (six) were the team leaders in assists.
Goalkeeper Moore was involved with seven shutouts for M-S’ regional champions.
