Effingham Dominates Mahomet-Seymour in Apollo Conference Softball Doubleheader Shutout

Mahomet-Seymour’s softball team was shutout in both games of an Apollo Conference doubleheader on Saturday (April 6) at home against Effingham.
The visitors won the opener, 15-0, and followed up with a 9-0 decision in Game 2.
The only M-S batter to reach base in the opener was cleanup hitter Rio Casillas. She swatted a single.
Ava Henderson took the loss. She struck out one batter in four innings.
In the nightcap, Casillas was one of five Bulldogs with hits. Henderson led the way, finishing 2-for-3, including a double. Madeleine Cortez, Brooklyn Dyer and Brooke Hartman all ended with one hit.
Dyer stole a base.
Katherine Severns suffered the loss. In seven innings, she recorded seven strikeouts.
M-S (3-7) returns to action on Monday (April 8) at Centennial.
