Diamond Dogs participate in Challenger League Game
The Mahomet Diamond Dogs 9U and 10U teams participated in a Tom Jones Challenger League baseball game Tuesday night at AMBUCS Park in Urbana.
Each Diamond Dog player paired up with a Challenger League athlete, helping them field, run the bases and bat. They also provided team support by cheering everyone on.
The Tom Jones Challenger League focuses on providing children, ages 6-21, with varying degrees of physical or mental challenges, with the opportunity to play baseball.
The Diamond Dog organization provides athletes with monthly service projects so that they learn the value of giving back to their community.
Recently, they have donated items to the Humane Society and collected baseball items to donate to local youth baseball organizations.diamond dogs
