Daisy Troop to host food drive on Nov. 9

Mahomet’s Daisy Troop #2956 will host a food drive for Mom’s Pantry at the Mahomet IGA on Nov. 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The 13 kindergarteners from Middletown Prairie Elementary are working on their Global Action Award and have recently learned about poverty. In an effort to fight poverty in their community, they decided to host a food drive.

Mom’s Pantry provides food items, hygiene products and clothes for those in need that have a student(s) in the Mahomet-Seymour school district.

The pantry is open the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month 5:30-7:30 or by appointment.
