Crowley Pumpkin Patch opens September 7

The Crowley Pumpkin Patch is opens today (September 7) for business. The patch located on 435 County Road 2500N Mahomet will be open Monday through Friday 6:30-8, Saturday 9-6 and Sunday 9-3.

The Crowleys, who farmed their land, decided to turn to a pumpkin crop a few years ago after the field, which is located near the Sangamon, flooded for three consecutive years. The Crowleys decided pumpkins would be a sustainable crop because of the later planting season.

They also love Halloween and thought pumpkins would be a good way to share the fall season with their family and friends.

With hundreds of pumpkins to carve, the Crowleys open up a carving day to the community each October. The carved pumpkins are then placed throughout the property and lit up for the Crowley Pumpkin Glow on October 29,30,31.

Spectators can view the Crowley Pumpkin Glow by driving by the farm after dark.
