The Bulldogs had two top-10 placers on Monday (Sept. 14) in the Champaign County boys’ golf tournament at Lincolnshire Fields Country Club.
Zach Courson fired an 89 and tied for fourth place. Teammate Jameson Drinkwalter carded a 90 and tied for sixth.
Other M-S competitors were Jackson White (95), who tied for 11th, C.J. Shoaf (98), Brian Coyne (107) and Carter Selk (107).
Centennial captured the team crown, with a score of 360. Runner-up M-S had a final tally of 372.
On Wednesday (Sept. 16), the Bulldogs and Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin tied for first in a three-team meet at Danville’s Harrison Park.
Each team finished with a four-person tally of 174. Urbana did not have enough players to be scored as a team.
However, based on the score of each school’s fifth player, M-S was declared the winner.
Courson (41) and teammate Ryan Long (42), finished second and third, respectively. Jacob Louis fired a 45 and tied for sixth.
Other participants for the Bulldogs were: Blake Harvey (46), Drinkwalter (47) and John Wagner (51). Drinkwalter’s score was the difference in the team outcome.
M-S (6-4) returns to action on Thursday (Sept. 17) at Lake of the Woods against Rantoul.
