The entire world witnessed what happened on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at the Capitol of the United States of America. I moved to the States more than thirty years ago, but this horrible event took me back to my childhood growing up in Karachi, Pakistan. Not in a million years did I ever think I would see all that occurred that day. The USA is not an underdeveloped country but on Wednesday it felt like it was. Our beautiful Capitol was desecrated and the gravity of that is still sinking in.
I believe, almost always, something good comes out of bad. I hope this day will bring people together and we will all join as one nation. That we will choose to love and care for another, and not further fall into a great divide.
