Grant Coleman’s double-double on Tuesday helped the Bulldogs remain unbeaten in Apollo Conference games.
Coleman put up team-high totals of 26 points and 11 rebounds as M-S overpowered visiting Mount Zion 67-49.
The Bulldogs are 3-3 for the season but 2-0 in Apollo Conference contests.
M-S carried a slender 46-42 lead into the final quarter, but outscored the Braves 21-7 in the last eight minutes to pull away.
Braden Finch netted a season-high 14 points. Cole Lener stuffed the stat sheet with 11 points, seven assists, five rebounds and five steals.
Kobe Essien added five points and seven rebounds.
“We took a while to get locked in defensively and were not as sound off the ball with our defense as we’d been in earlier stretches of the year,” M-S head coach Ryan Bosch said. “The offensive side of the ball continues to develop, and obviously Coleman’s shot-making propels much of that.”
M-S returns to action on Friday with an Apollo Conference matchup at Taylorville (3-3).
