Junior Grant Coleman’s fourth 30-point game of the season sparked Mahomet-Seymour to a victory in the regular-season boys’ basketball finale on Friday.
The Bulldogs (11-16) handled a Mattoon team, 58-53, that they lost to at home in overtime last month.
Coleman had 33 points, seven rebounds and five steals.
Senior Lucas Turner matched his season’s high game (13 points) for the second game in a row. He pulled down six rebounds.
Sophomore Braden Finch had five rebounds and four assists. Junior Cole Lener also handled five rebounds.
M-S returns to action on Monday in a first-round Class 3A regional tournament game at 6 p.m. against Rantoul on the Eagles’ court.
The winner of that game will face Champaign Central at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, also in Rantoul.
M-S is carrying a two-game winning into postseason play.
