Claybrooke picks up win at Monticello

Mahomet-Seymour’s Reis Claybrooke won medalist honors on Monday (Aug. 28) in a three-school boys’ golf meet at Monticello Country Club.
Claybrooke carded a 36 and earned a one-stroke victory.
Tying for third were M-S teammates Kelton Hennesy and Jacob Schoudel with 38s. Leif Olson finished in seventh place with a 39.
Other M-S participants were Parker Clements (46) and Cole Thrasher (49).
M-S had a cumulative score of 151. Monticello (155) was close behind and Centennial took third (205).
In the junior varsity match, M-S topped Monticello 170-176.
The Bulldogs had the top two placers. Zach Blumenshine was the JV medalist (39) and was followed by teammate Carter Henrikson (40).
M-S (3-0) will return to action on Friday (Sept. 1) in the Danville Invitational at Turtle Run Golf Club.
