Claybrooke and Clements earn All-County recognition

Mahomet-Seymour golfers Reis Claybrooke and Parker Clements earned all-County recognition on Monday (Sept.12) for their performance in the Champaign County boys’ golf tournament at Lincolnshire Fields Country Club.
They each fired 81s to tie for fifth. Claybrooke won a scorecard playoff for fifth and Clements was awarded sixth.
Other Bulldog scores were Jacob Schoudel (85), Kelton Hennesy (88), Brogan Hennesy (90) and Blake Harvey (92).
Champaign Central (321) was the team titlist. M-S was second with a composite score of 335.
On Wednesday (Sept. 14), the M-S junior varsity team participated in a meet with two varsity teams and captured first place at the UI Orange Course.
The M-S JV score was 188. Runner-up Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin compiled a 189 and Urbana finished at 203.
M-S’ Zach Blumenshine was the meet medalist with a 41.
Other Bulldog scores were Cole Thrasher (47), Aden Bergman (50), Riley Dowers (50), Camden Snodsmith (50) and Ethan Peterka (53).
M-S returns to action on Monday (Sept. 19) in the Apollo Conference Meet at Mattoon Country Club.
