Chatham Glenwood defeats Mahomet-Seymour softball in Sectional Semifinal

The Mahomet-Seymour softball season came to an end on Tuesday (May 30) at Chatham Glenwood in a 13-0 Class 3A sectional semifinal loss to the host Titans.
Glenwood has a 29-1-1 season record.
The Bulldogs were limited to one single, by Jenna Wade. The only other M-S baserunner, Madisyn White, stole a base.
Ava Henderson pitched four innings and Katherine Severns worked the fifth inning.
M-S closes the season with a 13-19 overall record.
Five squad members, with a minimum of 20 at-bats, hit above 300 for the season.
The leader, with a .442 batting average, was Madelyn Logsdon, The other team leaders were Brooke Hartman (.409), Kenadi Granadino (.329), Wade (.327) and Madeleine Cortez (.327).
Cortez and White shared the team-lead in runs scored (29), followed by Granadino (28).
Logsdon (39) led the team in RBI and was followed by Cortez and Rio Casillas (25). Logsdon (46), Cortez (33) and Wade (32) had the most hits.
White was the leader in stolen bases (14), followed by Cortez (10) and Sydney Ward (nine).
Logsdon (16) and Cortez (13) had the most extra-base hits. Logsdon produced 13 games with two, or more, hits. Granadino had 10 games, with two, or more hits.
Henderson did the bulk of the pitching, appearing in 25 games. She had an overall record of 10-14 and struck out a team-high 67 batters.
Two of her wins were by shutout.
Severns pitched in 13 games and ended with a 3-5 overall record.
The Bulldog seniors were Granadino, Kayla McKinney, Wade and Ward.
