Charleston defeats M-S Softball in double-header

After being no-hit in the opener, the Bulldogs bounced back with 10 hits in the second game, but were still outscored on Saturday (May 15) and dropped a softball doubleheader at home to Charleston.
The Trojans won the opener 7-0 and added an 8-2 win in the nightcap. The shutout loss was the first of the season against M-S.
The lone baserunner in the first game for M-S was Kenadi Granadino, who was hit by a pitch.
In the second game, Abagail Akers socked a solo home run and also pitched a complete game.
Ashley Campbell led the Bulldogs with three hits. Karley Yerger and Sydney McKinney each fashioned two hits.
Yergler took the first-game loss. She struck out nine and walked two.
M-S (10-6) returns to action on Monday (May 17) at Danville.
