The Champaign County Forest Preserve District has announced trail, road and parking lot construction at the River Bend Forest Preserve in May and June.
From May 25 to 28, crews will be prepping paved surfaces. The parking lot and road will be open during this period, but drivers are advised to use extra caution during their visit. From May 26 to 28, the park’s main trail will be fully closed for resurfacing.
From June 1 to 4, the entire preserve will be closed to the public as crews will be resurfacing the roads and parking lot, The park is expected to reopen on June 5, but visitors should watch for any updates on the CCFPD website and social media in the event of work or weather delays.
