Carle transitions vaccine clinics to Champaign on Curtis, Urbana on Windsor
Champaign, Ill. — Carle in partnership with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and Champaign Urbana Public Health District (CUPHD) will close the Kohl’s Plaza COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic on Sunday, June 6. Vaccine appointments for those who live or work in Champaign County will transition to Carle Champaign on Curtis and Carle Urbana on Windsor beginning Monday, June 7.
Appointments at both locations will be by walk-in only. Vaccine patients should follow signage to the separate vaccination area for check-in and registration.
Where: Carle Champaign on Curtis, 1701 W. Curtis Rd., Champaign
Carle Urbana on Windsor, 1818 E. Windsor Rd., Urbana
When: Monday – Friday, beginning June 7
7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
“We are thankful for the opportunity we’ve had to use the Kohl’s Plaza clinic as a central hub for COVID-19 vaccinations,” Caleb Miller, senior vice president, specialty and ambulatory care, Carle Health said. “Now we look forward to this transition and the ability to offer two convenient locations for our community to get their vaccines as we continue our fight against this virus. We remain dedicated to expanding accessibility of vaccines for those in Champaign County.”
Patients currently receiving their first dose at Kohl’s Plaza will have the option to receive their second dose at their preferred location. Second dose vaccinations received at either Champaign on Curtis or Urbana on Windsor will be given at the same location as the first dose.
Since the first vaccine was administered in December 2020, Carle Health has provided nearly 112,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to patients across the region.
There is no cost to individuals to get a COVID vaccine. You may be asked to bring your insurance card if you have one, but you will not be turned away if you do not have insurance. Visit Carle.org for more information.
