Byron ties for medalist honors

Senior Sylvia Byron tied for medalist honors in Mahomet-Seymour’s Girls’ Golf Senior Night match at Lake of the Woods on Thursday against Mount Zion.

Byron carded a 50 and shared the top spot with freshman teammate Ainsley Winters and two Mount Zion competitors: Madelynn Lutt and Riley Houser.

Mount Zion won the meet, 202-213.

All four Bulldog seniors were in the lineup. Jade Harms finished with a 54. Rachel Burke and Hannah Cassel each fired 64s.

The other M-S participant was Cecilia Abramson (59).

The Bulldogs return to action on Thursday in the St. Thomas More Regional, at Lincolnshire Fields Country Club.
