Bulldogs win two of last three

The seventh-grade Mahomet-Seymour boys’ basketball team has posted wins in two of its last three games, including a 37-35 triumph on Tuesday (Nov. 16) at home over Charleston.
Three Bulldogs reached double figures in scoring against Charleston. Paxson O’Malley netted 13 points, Bryson Tiefenthaler tossed in 12 points and Parker Henry added 10 points. The other two points were scored by Braylon McDermand.
On Monday (Nov. 15), the Bulldogs dropped a 26-11 decision at Normal Parkside.
O’Malley led the way with five points. Tiefenthaler and McDermand each scored two points. Landon Busch and Eli Dyer both hit a free throw.
On Thursday (Nov. 11), M-S dispatched Paxton-Buckley-Loda at home, 43-4.
Silas Campion was the top scorer with 12 points. O’Malley and Josiah Beecham each contributed four points. Finishing with four points apiece were Dyer, Tiefenthaler and Ben Ohms. Henry, Coy Benway and Joe Roller added two points apiece and Nick Brauer had one point.
The seventh-graders are 5-2 and return to action on Monday (Nov. 22) at home against Normal Chiddix.
The eighth-graders were edged by Paxton-Buckley-Loda, 29-26. Cade Ashby tallied nine points and Landy Hannah scored seven points. Jackson Bohm hit four points. Making two points apiece were Nolan Franz, Henry McMurry and Cole Thrasher.
