Bulldogs win every event at Olympia meet

Mahomet-Seymour won every event on Thursday (Jan. 13) at Stanford Olympia and swept a meet against two opponents.
M-S amassed 167 points. Olympia had 47 points and Lincoln finished with 16 points.
Three Bulldogs captured wins in two individual events: Aron Varga (200-yard individual medley and 500-yard freestyle); Owen Kearns (200-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke) and Carter Logsdon (50-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly).
Max Katz won the diving competition, Mark Guttierez won the 100-yard breaststroke, and Mitch McAnally was victorious in the 100-yard freestyle.
Katz was the runner-up in the 50-yard freestyle, Guttierez was second in the 100-yard freestyle and Aaron Smith placed second in the100-yard backstroke.
One teammate earned seconds in two events: Caden Raquel (200-yard individual medley and 100-yard butterfly).
The 200-yard medley relay foursome of Kearns, Varga, McAnally and Katz was triumphant as was the 200-yard freestyle relay unit of Logsdon, Katz, Raquel and McAnally.
Also taking first was the 400-yard freestyle quartet of Kearns, McAnally, Logsdon and Varga.
M-S (7-2) returns to action on Wednesday (Jan. 19) at LaSalle-Peru in a meet which will also include Stanford Olympia.
