The top-seeded Bulldogs opened the seventh-grade Class 4A IESA regional tournament at home on Monday against Charleston – the same team they had played two days earlier in the regular-season finale.
M-S suffered no letdowns and defeated four-seeded Charleston in straight sets, 25-21, 25-10.
In the opening set, the Bulldogs pulled into a 24-13 lead thanks in part to the serving of Ava Hewitt, who had two aces among her nine service points.
In the decisive second set, Erin Dallas landed six aces among her 10 service points as the Bulldogs completed the sweep.
Lily Bosworth led M-S with six kills. Anna Streicher had four kills and Hewitt posted three kills. She finished the match with four aces.
Dallas totaled a match-high eight aces and also had one kill. Ava Yeakel added two kills and one service ace.
M-S (11-2) will play Effingham in the regional championship match on Wednesday (March10) at M-S. The Bulldogs have won six matches in a row.
