Bulldogs sweep last two matches

The Mahomet-Seymour seventh-grade volleyball team has a four-match winning streak after sweeping Champaign Edison at home on Monday (Feb. 6), 25-22, 25-20.
Prior to that, the seventh-graders won at Normal Parkside on Thursday (Feb. 2), 25-23, 25-22, and at Rantoul Eater on Tuesday (Jan. 31), 25-7, 25-8.
The winning streak began on Saturday (Jan. 28) with a 25-10, 25-16 victory at Bloomington.
The young Bulldogs lost at home to Champaign Jefferson on Tuesday (Jan. 26), 28-26, 19-25, 25-22 and were beaten at Downs Tri-Valley on Tuesday (Jan. 24), 25-15, 25-8.
M-S also posted a 25-11, 25-2 win at home over Mattoon on Monday (Jan. 23).
The seventh-graders have a 10-5 overall record and return to action on Thursday (Feb. 9) at Champaign Franklin.

The M-S eighth-graders had their four-match winning streak come to an end on Monday (Feb. 6) with a 25-22, 25-20 loss at home to Champaign Edison.
During the winning streak, the Bulldogs topped Normal Parkside (25-23, 25-21), Rantoul Eater in two sets, Bloomington (27-25, 25-17) and Champaign Jefferson (25-12, 25-19) after losing at Downs Tri-Valley (25-21, 25-18) and beating Mattoon.
The eighth-graders have a 9-6 record and play at Champaign Franklin on Thursday (Feb. 9).
