“In an impressive display of skill and depth, the Bulldogs secured a critical victory over Mount Zion to stay within one game of the top of the conference,” M-S coach Jeremy Davis said. “Despite missing three starters due to injuries, the Bulldogs dominated the play throughout the game, with six freshmen stepping up to play significant minutes for the team.
“After a closely contested first half that saw the Bulldogs control the game but not the scoreboard, they exploded out of the gate in the second half, scoring two goals within the first five minutes. The team’s grit and determination were on full display as they controlled the game until the final whistle, finishing the game with four goals in the second half.”
M-S (8-2-2) returns to action on Tuesday (April 25) at home against Charleston. The Bulldogs are 5-1 in conference play. Mount Zion is 10-5 overall, with two of the losses to M-S.
