Bulldogs place second at Centennial

The Bulldogs won seven of 12 events on Tuesday (Sept.14) and placed second in a triangular girls’ swimming meet at Centennial.
The host Chargers compiled 138 points. Runner-up M-S had 117 points. St Thomas More finished with 34 points.
Senior Kate Raver, senior Olivia McMurry and junior Eden Oelze were the Bulldogs’ leaders. Each won an individual event and helped two relays to first-place finishes.
Oelze prevailed in the 100-yard butterfly (1 minutes, 5.70 seconds) and Raver was triumphant in the 50-yard freestyle (28.82). McMurry captured top honors in the 100-yard backstroke (1:09.98).
Raver swam the anchor leg on the victorious 200-yard medley relay (2:08.18), which also included McMurry, Anna Lagacy and Oelze.
The winning 200-yard freestyle relay (1:57.96) featured Oelze, Raver, Kiera McCoy and McMurry.
The other M-S champions were McCoy in the 200-yard freestyle (2:36.63) and Mady Logsdon in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:34.54).
Finishing as individual event runners-up were Oelze (200-yard individual medley, 2:31.27), McMurry (100-yard freestyle, 59.26) and Ana Iliff (500-yard freestyle, 8:26.43).
The 400-yard freestyle relay foursome of Raver, Taylor Easter, McCoy and Logsdon placed second in 4:47.91. The Bulldogs also pulled off a fourth-place finish in the same relay with the unit of Iliff, Liz Hall, Janae Hall and Teri Hall. Their collective time was 6:12.79.
Other top-four placers for M-S were Logsdon (third in the 200-yard IM, 3:05.52), Easter (third in the 50-yard relay, 31.25, McCoy (third in the 100-yard butterfly, 1:32.72), and Easter (fourth in the 100-yard freestyle, 1:14.30).
M-S (3-3) returns to action on Tuesday (Sept. 21) at Stanford Olympia.
