Bulldogs open New Year with win over Rantoul

Lucas Dyer recorded a double-double on Wednesday (Jan. 3) as the Mahomet-Seymour boys’ basketball team pounded Rantoul, 74-49.
In addition to his 11 points and 11 rebounds, Dyer posted six assists and four rebounds.
Dyer was one of four Bulldogs to score in double figures. Jackson Bohm hit a team-high 14 points. He was followed by Finn Randolph (13 points) and Landyn Hannah (12 points).
M-S nailed nine three-point shots. Randolph drained three. Cade Starrick and Miles Woolsey hit two three-pointers apiece. Dyer and Hannah added one long-distance shot apiece.
Starrick scored eight points and Woolsey added six points. Gavin Bailey and Henry Wagner each totaled four points. Braden Pagel ended with two points.
Bohm gathered nine rebounds, Randolph grabbed six boards and Wagner had five. Woolsey blocked two shots.
M-S (8-8) returns to action on Thursday (Jan. 11) at Mattoon.
