Bulldogs lose to Limestone in final round of Pontiac Turkey Tip-Off

Reese Gallier scored a team-high 14 points on Saturday (Nov. 18), but the Mahomet-Seymour girls’ basketball team dropped a 52-45 decision to Limestone in the final round of the Bank of Pontiac Turkey Tip-Off Tournament in Fairbury.

Gallier drained four of her five baskets from beyond the three-point arc and has a team-leading nine three-pointers after four games.

Kylie Waldinger, who hit two three-point shots, totaled eight points against Limestone.

Also reaching the scoring column for the Bulldogs were Sidney Young (six points), Ellie Dallas (five points), Grace Binkley (four points), Selah Campion (three points), Adaline Eisenmann (three points) and Hannah Freel (two points).

Dallas and Eisenmann each hit one three-point shot.

M-S held a 17-13 lead after one quarter, but had fallen behind, 27-25 at halftime. After three quarters, the Limestone lead was 36-35.

On Thursday (Nov. 16), Waldinger scored all 17 of her points in the first half as M-S overpowered Prairie Central, 50-11, in tournament action.

The Bulldog defense held Prairie Central to one first-half field goal while building a 34-5 lead at intermission.

Dallas and Gallier both hit shots from three-point range and collected eight points apiece.

Campion totaled five points. Kara Carney and Binkley each hit four points. Addie Lagacy and Young contributed two points apiece.

M-S (2-2) returns to action on Monday (Nov. 20) at Urbana before playing their home-opener on Tuesday (Nov. 21) against Metamora.
