Bulldogs hand loss to Taylorville

Behind the early scoring exploits of sophomores Jackson Bohm and Landyn Hannah, the Mahomet-Seymour boys’ basketball team raced past Taylorville, 66-18, at home on Tuesday (Dec. 12).
Bohm hit nine points in the opening quarter and Hannah netted eight as M-S zipped into a 24-3 lead after eight minutes of action.
Hannah went on to score a varsity career high 20 points. Bohm finished with 13 points.
Also reaching the scoring column for the Bulldogs were Lucas Dyer (six points), Braden Pagel (six points), Henry Wagner (six points), Timothy Anderson (five points), Jake Rothlisberger (four points), Cade Starrick (three points), Finnley Randolph (two points) and Gavin Bailey (one point).
The Bulldogs’ halftime lead was 37-7.
Bohm hauled down a team-high six rebounds. Collecting four rebounds apiece were Bailey, Dyer, Hannah, Rothlisberger and Starrick.
M-S connected on 13 of 32 three-point shots in the game, including a 6-for-8 showing from Hannah.
Dyer and Pagel made two three-pointers apiece. Sinking one shot from long distance were Anderson, Bohm and Starrick.
Dyer finished with four assists and Hannah totaled three assists.
M-S (5-4) is 4-1 in Apollo Conference action and returns to the court on Friday (Dec. 15) at Lincoln.
