Bulldogs finish fifth at Dunlap Invitational

Freshman Augustus Gaudio was the meet runner-up on Saturday (Sept. 24), helping Mahomet-Seymour to a fifth-place finish in the Dunlap boys’ cross-country invitational at Illinois Central College.
Gaudio was timed in 16 minutes, 6.30 seconds for a 2.95-mile course.
The next seven Bulldog runners entered the finish chute within 57 seconds of one another.
Henry McMurry was 24th (17:01.0) and was followed by Ben Wallace (27th in 17:02.60), Lukas Nykaza (28th in 17:05.90), Blake Dillman (33rd in 17:21.20), Emmett Kearns (42nd in 17:40.70), Grant Smysor (48th in 17:47.20) and Lukas Carey (56th in 17:58.60).
Eight other Bulldogs participated in the race.
Kaleb Kasper ended 65th in 18:22.10 and was trailed by Zach Wilcoski (86th in 19:00.60), Colin Johnson (116th in 19:51.60), Gavin Fan (125th in 20:24.00), Corban McMinn (140th in 21:04.50), Henry Carpenter (141st in 21:06.20), Alex Carpenter (178th in 24:45.90) and Ben Schultz (189th in 31:03.60).
