Bulldogs drop close games against Taylorville and Normal Community

The Bulldogs ended the week with two losses on the road by a combined 10 points. Of the team’s six losses this season, five have been by no more than 10 points.
On Thursday (March 4), M-S dropped a 51-48 decision at Taylorville. On Saturday (March 6), the Bulldogs lost at Normal Community, 38-31.
Sophomore Savannah Orgeron led the way at Taylorville, firing in a team-high 13 points. Cayla Koerner contributed 11 points. Abigail Bunting had nine points and Durbin Thomas chipped in with eight points.
M-S trailed by eight points (44-36) entering the final quarter before closing the gap.
Orgeron and Sydney Esker shared the team-lead in rebounding with four apiece.
At Normal Community, sophomore Chloe Pruitt became the fifth squad member to score in double figures this season. She notched 12 points to go with three rebounds and two steals.
The Bulldogs were held to nine first-half points and trailed by 14 at the break.
Koerner collected six points and led the team with five rebounds and four steals. Bunting and Emma Clements each grabbed four rebounds.
M-S (7-6) returns to action on Monday (March 8) at Teutopolis before concluding its season at home on Thursday (March 11) against Charleston.
