Bulldogs compete in Top Prep Times Class 2A indoor state track and field meet

Four seniors combined to provide Mahomet-Seymour its best finish on Saturday (March 26) in the Top Prep Times Class 2A indoor state track and field meet at Illinois Wesleyan University’s Shirk Center.
Jonah Singer, Karsten Waisath, Kyle Nofziger and Joseph Scheele teamed up for an eighth-place finish in the 3,200-meter relay. Their collective time was 8 minutes 39.24 seconds.
Singer, Nofziger and Scheele also participated in individual events in the meet that is regarded as the unofficial state indoor meet.
Nofziger was 10th in the 3,200 meters (9:56.91), Singer was 12th in the 800 meters (2:19.73) and Scheele was 14th in the 1,600 meters (4:39.76).
Other Bulldog placers were junior Cole Marshall (12th in the triple jump, 38 feet, 9 inches) and senior Tyler Lewis (21st in the 400 meters, 54.76 seconds).
M-S returns to action on Monday (April 11) at Seneca.
Mahomet-Seymour Girls’ Track and Field
Senior Ariana Lingard was the lone Mahomet-Seymour qualifier in the girls’ division of the Saturday (March 26) Top Prep Times Class 2A indoor state track and field meet at Illinois Wesleyan University’s Shirk Center.
The sprinter ended 18th in the 60-meter dash. She was timed in 8.20 seconds.
M-S returns to action on Saturday (April 2) in the Gene Armer Invitational, in Urbana.
