Bulldogs begin season strong at Lincoln Tournament, fall in final two games

The Mahomet-Seymour boys basketball team began the Lincoln/Eaton Round Robin Tournament 3-0 and 1-0 in the Apollo Conference with wins over Cahokia, Bartonville and Lincoln High School.

After a 53-50 win over Cahokia Monday night, the Bulldogs defeated Bartonville 58-22. Cory Noe scored 23 points and grabbed 8 rebounds and Grant Coleman scored 19 points.

Scoring 25 points, Cory Noe carried the Bulldogs to a 48-42 win over Lincoln High School on Friday afternoon.

Danville High School outscored the Bulldogs in three of the four quarters to defeat Mahomet-Seymour 64-47 Saturday afternoon.

Then the Bulldogs took another hit as the Bulldogs lost a nail-biter  53-51 against Champaign Centennial.

Cory Noe and Grant Coleman scored double digits points with 24 and 11 respectively. Noah Benedict grabbed 9 rebounds.
