Bulldog Volleyball defeats Taylorville, drops two in round-robin event

The Bulldogs on Thursday (March 18) continued a pattern that started in the team’s opener earlier in the week.
The M-S volleyball team lost the first set to an Apollo Conference opponent before rallying for a victory in three sets.
In their home opener, the Bulldogs topped Taylorville, 14-25, 25-17, 25-12.
Senior Josie Hess registered a team-high 18 digs.
Sophomore setter Maddie Gaede totaled eight assists to go with four kills and three blocks.
Haylie Orton amassed six blocks, five digs and two kills.
On Saturday (March 20), the Bulldogs dropped two matches in a round-robin event in their gym.
M-S dropped a 25-17, 20-25, 25-20 decision to St. Joseph-Ogden and took a 25-15, 25-19 loss to Decatur St. Teresa.
M-S (2-2) returns to action on Tuesday (March 23) at home against Teutopolis.
Against Taylorville both the junior varsity (25-14, 25-18) and the freshmen (21-16, 15-21, 15-10) suffered losses.
