Bulldog swimming wins all 12 events at Olympia

Mahomet-Seymour’s girls’ swimming team won all 12 events on Tuesday (Sept. 19) and outscored Olympia, 94-76, in Stanford.
Talynn O’Donnell, Lainey Howard and Caroline Mills were all two-event winners in individual events.
O’Donnell took top honors in the 200-yard individual medley (2:22.28) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:05.08).
Howard was the winner in the 200-yard freestyle (2:10.94) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:53.58).
Mills was triumphant in the 50-yard freestyle (28.50 seconds) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:20.79).
Other individual winners for M-S were Maddie Logsdon (100-yard freestyle in a personal-best 1:03.63), Kayleigh Holt (100-yard backstroke in 1:16.58) and Bella Almaroad (167.95 in diving for the six-dive event).
The Bulldogs swept the three relay races.
The 200-yard medley foursome featured O’Donnell, Mills, Logsdon and Holt. Their cumulative time was 2:10.23.
The 200-yard freestyle unit included O’Donnell, Claire Waggoner, Mills and Howard). Their combined time was 1:52.41.
The 400-yard freestyle grouping of Howard, Logsdon, Holt and Waggoner was triumphant in 4:21.65.
Waggoner and Christina Peng both had two individual finishes among the top four.
Waggoner took third in the 200-yard freestyle (personal-best 2:33.94) and fourth in the 100-yard backstroke (1:24.34).
Peng ended third in the 100-yard freestyle (1:11.72) and fourth in the 50-yard freestyle (personal-best 31.68 seconds).
Logsdon was the runner-up in the 200-yard individual medley (2:48.95).
M-S (2-2) returns to action on Tuesday (Sept. 26) at Normal Community.
