Bulldog Soccer shuts out Charleston

Travis Hoffman, Isaac Warren and Nolan Wheeler all tallied two goals on Thursday (Sept. 28) as the Mahomet-Seymour boys’ soccer team shut out Charleston 9-0 on the Trojans field.
Other Bulldog goals were by Brody Back, Colin Jackson and William Jones.
Brian Woodbury totaled three assists. Kia Jones and Warren each contributed two assists. Ethan Ramirez and Wheeler each had one assist.
On Saturday (Sept. 30), the Bulldogs fell behind 3-0 in the first 30 minutes at Champaign Central and subsequently dropped a 3-2 decision.
Warren converted a penalty kick to get M-S on the board. The final goal was netted by Wheeler, with an assist by Kia Jones.
Central is the No. 1 seed for the upcoming Class 2A sectional tournament. M-S is the No. 2 seed and will host a regional which starts on Tuesday (Oct. 17). Central will host a separate regional, with the winners moving on to the same sectional.
M-S (10-3-4) returns to action on Tuesday (Oct. 3) at home against Mattoon at Middletown Field.
The Bulldogs are 6-0-1 in Apollo Conference matches and have outscored league foes 45-1. Overall this season, M-S has produced nine shutouts.
