Bulldog Soccer opens conference play with two shutouts

Mahomet-Seymour’s boys’ soccer team opened Apollo Conference play with consecutive shutouts.

In their home-opener on Thursday (Sept 7), the Bulldogs blanked Charleston, 9-0. On Saturday (Sept. 9), M-S won at Lincoln, 4-0.

Senior Nolan Wheeler accounted for three goals and three assists against Charleston. Sophomore Colin Jackson notched two goals.

Caden Alt, Travis Hoffman, Mikiah Jones and Isaac Warren each tallied one goal.

Other assists were by Warren (three), Mikiah Jones (two), and Wesley Jones (one).

Against Lincoln, Wheeler knocked in two goals and Mikiah Jones posted two assists.

Also entering the scoring column were Alt and Warren, with one goal apiece, and Warren and Brian Woodbury, with one assist apiece.

M-S (4-1-3) returns to action on Thursday (Sept. 14) at home against Mount Zion.
