Bulldog baseball picks up wins over Pontiac and Champaign Central

Nate McFall, Carter Selk and Will Sampson socked two hits apiece on Monday (April 26) as Mahomet-Seymour’s baseball offense more than doubled its season’s total for runs scored in an 18-3 four-inning triumph at home over Pontiac.

In its first four games, M-S had tallied a total of 17 runs.

Selk slugged a home run and drove in four runs. McFall scored four runs. Mateo Casillas knocked in three runs. Andrew Norman stole three bases and Zach Courson swiped two bases.

Zac Carr pitched a complete game, striking out five batters in four innings.

On Wednesday (April 28), Selk and Sampson again collected two hits apiece as the Bulldogs produced their highest-scoring game of the season, decisioning Champaign Central at home, 21-1.

Sampson drove in five runs, McFall had four RBI and Evan Ruzich had three RBI.

Carr and Sampson each scored three runs.

Blake Wolters earned his first win of the season, striking out four batters in his three-inning stint. Courson closed it out on the mound, retiring all three batters he faced in the fourth inning.

M-S (3-3) returns to action on Friday (April 30) at St.  Joseph-Ogden.
