Bulldog Baseball drops two late last week

Keegan Ashby, Will Sampson and Blake Wolters all collected two hits on Thursday (May 13), but Mahomet-Seymour committed four errors and suffered a 9-7 non-conference baseball loss at Oakwood.
M-S starter Zac Carr walked no one and struck out four in his 4 1/3-inning stint, but was saddled with the loss. Five of the six runs Carr allowed were unearned.
The Bulldogs stroked 11 hits. Ten were singles and the other was a double by Carter Johnson, a sophomore who delivered his first varsity hit.
Jacob Creel had two of M-S’ six stolen bases.
On Saturday (May 15), the Bulldogs dropped an Apollo Conference twin bill at Charleston, 10-5 and 8-7. M-S held a 7-0 lead after 4 ½ innings of Game 2.
Carr, Nolan Nierenhausen and Andrew Norman all stroked two second-game hits. Nierenhausen knocked in three runs.
Will Sampson and Carter Selk both scored two runs for the Bulldogs.
In the first game, Chase Wagers collected two hits for the Bulldogs.
M-S (7-8) returns to action on Monday (May 17) with a doubleheader at Teutopolis. The Bulldogs are 1-4 in Apollo Conference contests.
