Bridle Brook under new ownership, customer service still foundation for day-to-day operations

Under new ownership, Bridle Brook Senior Living Community, is receiving some much needed updates, but is focused on continuing to offer superior care for its residents and their families.

“There is some misconception out there because over the years, there have been different management companies manage the day-to-day operations; so there is this idea that we’ve been sold multiple times. But we’ve never been sold before now,” Executive Director Angela Barden said. “The original owners that built this building and owned Bridle Brook had been the owners all along.”

But Randall Residence Senior Care and Assisted Living decided to move onto other projects in the community, and sold to Capital Senior Living at the end of September.

“What makes it unique and nice is that Capital Senior Living is not only the owners, but they are also our management company, so it’s all one in the same,” Barden said.

Capital Senior Living, a Dallas, Texas based company is one of the largest operators for residential communities for senior adults with 115 senior living communities in 23 states.

Barden said residents of Bridle Brook saw immediate upgrades once Capital Senior Living took over. Although the Bridle Brook building is only eight years old, Barden said some of the behind the scenes equipment needed upgraded, and the new ownership took care of them right away.

“From my point of view, it improves our service to our customer,” Barden said.

With programs such as family/resident social and an open-to-the-community facility year round, Barden said the day-to-day care and experience Bridle Brook residents receive remains the same.

“We recognize that it’s not just about our residents; it’s about the whole family having the peace of mind with our experience here,” she said. “It’s not just about being in this building and taking care of seniors. It’s about our seniors having a purposeful life even within these walls.”

With the facility open for walkers and for dinner during the weekdays, Bridle Brook has also connected to Middletown Prairie Elementary this year by taking residents to read to children during the day and inviting students to the Bridle Brook facility to read to residents.

Barden, who left the hotel service profession to find a balance between work and family, said she, too has found family at Bridle Brook. Barden served as the Marketing Director under Randall Residence ownership, but took over as Executive Director a few weeks ago.

“For me, Bridle Brook is my home away from home,” she said. “Over time, I have grown to love these residents and their families. So it was important to me with this change of ownership, there be some consistency and someone these residents and their family know and trust.”
