Boyd leads Bulldogs at East Peoria Invite

Senior Ava Boyd was the top runner for the Mahomet-Seymour girls’ cross-country team on Saturday (Sept. 23) in the 15-school East Peoria girls’ cross-country invitational at Illinois Central College.
Boyd was timed in 19 minutes, 21.40 seconds on a muddy, hilly course. She was 14.80 seconds behind the first-place finisher.
Other Bulldogs who finished among the top 100 in the 146-runner race were Taylor Mills (12th in 20:14.0), Chloe Bundren (29th in 21:34.10), Jaci Kellenberger (30th in 21:48.00), Ava Jansen (45th in 22:41.80), Hadley Grotelueschen (49th in 22:52.10), Emma Frazier (54th in 23:06.00), Jinan Abdo (56th in 23:15.10), Zoey Wallace (63rd in 23:36.00), Emmaline Culp (67th in 23:56.60), Caroline Allen (83rd in 25:20.70), Emily Ramirez (84th in 25:22.80), Camryn Nelson (85th in 25:27.70), Selma Tilton (88th in 25:35.70), Meg Turner (92nd in 25:41.50), Morgan Waisath (94th in 25:43.30) and Blaire Gabel (100th in 26:07.60).
M-S will return to action on Saturday (Oct. 7) in the Gene Jones Runnin’ Red Invitational at Black Patridge Park, in Metamora.
