BCC edges out M-S Swimming at Pontiac

Senior Olivia McMurry was a two-event winner on Thursday (Sept. 9), but the Mahomet-Seymour girls’ swimming team dropped a narrow 96-94 decision to Bloomington Central Catholic at Pontiac.
McMurry was victorious in the 100-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke.
Senior Kate Raver was the other M-S individual winner. She triumphed in the 50-yard freestyle and was the runner-up in the 400-yard freestyle.
Eden Oelze recorded second-place finishes in both the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard butterfly.
Other team leaders were Kiera McCoy (second in the 200-yard freestyle and third in the 100-yard backstroke); Anna Lagacy (second in the 100-yard breaststroke); Taylor Easter (third in the 50-yard freestyle); Mady Logsdon (third in the 100-yard breaststroke) and Ana Iliff (third in the 400-yard freestyle).
The Bulldogs (2-3) return to action on Tuesday (Sept. 14) against Centennial and St. Thomas More.
