Barker and Bosworth Lead Mahomet-Seymour Volleyball to Fifth-Place Finish at Lincoln Tournament

All-tournament selections Ellie Barker and Lily Bosworth sparked the Mahomet-Seymour volleyball team to wins in four of five matches at the Lincoln Tournament on Saturday (Sept.14) and a fifth-place team finish.

Bosworth pounded 42 kills to go with 12 blocks while Barker landed 37 kills and four service aces for the tourney.

The Bulldogs opened with wins over Decatur St. Teresa (25-12, 25-17) and Limestone (25-11, 25-23) before falling to Normal West (25-20, 25-22).

M-S captured wins over O’Fallon (25-23, 25-17) and Chatham Glenwood (25-22, 25-22) to finish the tournament.

M-S (12-2) returns to action on Tuesday (Sept. 17) at home against Taylorville.

On Thursday (Sept. 12), Addy Eisenmann recorded 10 digs and M-S stayed unbeaten in Apollo Conference matches with a two-set sweep at Mount Zion.

The Bulldogs prevailed 25-14, 25-13.

Anna Streicher added two kills, a block and a dig for M-S, 2-0 in league play.

The Bulldogs’ junior varsity team won 25-21, 25-19. The M-S freshmen were also victorious, 21-15, 21-18.
