Bailey’s Consistent Batting Not Enough as Mahomet-Seymour Falls to Effingham St. Anthony 7-2

Gavin Bailey delivered a two-hit performance for the fourth straight game and the sixth time in his last seven games on Monday (April 8), but the Mahomet-Seymour baseball team dropped a 7-2 decision at Effingham St. Anthony.

Teammate Camden Heinold also rapped two hits. Noah Butler delivered one hit and knocked in both M-S runs.

Also finishing with one hit for M-S were Tyson Finch and Cade Starrick. Finch and Nolan Johnson scored the Bulldog runs.

Max Young allowed one hit in 4 2/3 innings, but took the loss. He walked three and struck out two. Alec Bergman pitched the last 1 1/3 innings.

M-S (8-4) returns to action on Thursday (April 11) at Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley.
