According to the Village of Mahomet website, a Back the Blue Rally will begin at Lincoln Trail and cruise past the Mahomet Police Department on Sept. 19.
Noted as a “rally parade to show support for local P.D,” the permit states that the event will begin at 11 a.m.
The Central Illinois Chapter of the Legion of St. Michael posted a call for members to gather at the Circle K on the corner of IL-150 and IL-47 at 9:30 a.m. “to lead the way, make it loud and set up a perimeter once there in case of an anti-movement.”
The group will make their way to Champaign-Urbana, meeting groups from St. Joseph and Tolono, for a rally that will include the National Anthem, prayer, speakers and a rally cruise.
