Mahomet-Seymour Junior Eden Oelze is off to a strong start as the Mahomet-Seymour High School swim team begins the 2021 season.
Oelze was victorious in the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard butterfly in a three-school meet at Pontiac at the beginning of September. She won the same events Charleston a few days later.
She was also part of the 200-yard medley relay team that placed first in Charleston.
Oelze is also part of the Champaign County YMCA swim team. In the 2021 IL YMCA State Virtual Invitational, Oelze competed in the 100-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle, 100-yard fly, 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard individual medley event.
According to swimcloud.com, she is ranked 260th in the state.
